If you're not already signed up, get registered today –  the event is filling up quickly. We look forward to seeing you at the 2010 Boulder Marathon event!

RACE WEEKEND INFORMATION:

1. OPEN TO RUNNERS & WALKERS All Boulder Marathon races are open to walkers and runners, and there is a 7-hour time limit to complete the Boulder Marathon course.

2. RACE LOCATION:  The start and finish line is located at the City of Boulder Reservoir. The three race courses are certified with USATF (United States Amateur Track & Field). New for this year is a 10 kilometer distance. The 10K replaces the relay. The 10K course is an out and back route on the marathon and half marathon course.

3. RACE MEDAL, SHIRT, HAT & BEVERAGE GLASS:  All finishers in the marathon and half marathon will receive a special commemorative race medal. Also, the apparel each runner receives is top notch. Each runner in the marathon, half marathon and 10 kilometer will receive a high quality technical running shirt, with the race logo on it. All runners will receive a high quality technical running hat, as well as a beautiful Boulder Marathon race poster of our 2010 illustration. Finally, the first 1,500 registrants will receive a 2010 Boulder Marathon beverage glass. NOTE: All beverage glasses must be picked up at Packet Pickup at the 29th Street Mall. Glass is not allowed at the Boulder Reservoir, and people who go to race day packet pickup are Not eligible for this offer. We'll reach the 1,500 number soon, so get registered if you want to receive the beverage glass.

4. PARKING IMPROVEMENT FOR 2010 For the first time ever with the Boulder Marathon, parking at the Boulder Reservoir will be strictly limited to the first 2,000 registrants. This is due to the fact that the time required to exit the reservoir after the race is simply too long. Whereas in the past many runners have had to sit in their cars for a long time waiting to exit, having 500 less cars at the 2010 event will ensure that it will be much easier for people to exit the Boulder Reservoir property after the event. Remember to register early as this is the only way to ensure you can park at the event. Participants registering after the 2,000 parking limit is reached can still participate, however they will have to use one of the following means to get to the event: 1) ride their bike, or 2) park in town and carpool to the event. Race day parking will begin at 6am. Always plan to arrive early.

5. PACKET PICKUP / EXPO:  Packet Pickup for the 2010 Boulder Marathon will be held at the 29th Street Mall in Boulder. Hours are 10am – 5pm on Friday, September 17th and Saturday, September 18th. Packet Pickup will be located across from Pete's Coffee. The Boulder Marathon Expo will be held on race day at the Boulder Reservoir.

6. NEW START TIMES FOR 2010 The Boulder Marathon will start promptly at 7:30am – this is a half hour earlier than last year's marathon starting time. The Boulder Half Marathon and 10 Kilometer races will both start at 8am.

7. RACE COURSE SUPPORT The race courses are fully supported, with ample aid stations and toilets. Each aid station features the following: Gatorade Endurance Formula, GU gels, Larabar energy bars, Eldorado Water, Whole Foods bananas and oranges, and bagel bites from Rudi's, etc. Everything you could want on a marathon or half marathon race course. We've hired a completely new race crew to manage the Boulder Marathon race course, and you can expect to receive excellent support while out on the race course. When you're finished with your race, we're offering complimentary post-race massage from Elements.

8. POST RACE The post race event is top-notch. The food is excellent, and includes everything a runner or walker could want after completing a marathon or half marathon. Bread and bagels are provided by Rudi's Organic Bakery, and we will once again feature organic fruit from Whole Foods.
